In January 2026, accommodation providers in Germany recorded 25.5 million overnight stays by domestic and foreign guests.

According to preliminary results from the Federal Statistical Office (DRV), this was 1.2 percent more than in January 2025.

Increase in overnight stays by domestic and foreign guests

The number of overnight stays by domestic guests rose by 1.3 percent to 21.2 million in January 2026 compared with January 2025. The number of overnight stays by foreign guests grew by 1.0 percent to 4.3 million.
