Gerald Kassner, CEO of German tour
operator Schauinsland-Reisen, assessed the 2024/2025 financial year.
According to a report in ReiseVor9, Schauinsland-Reisen
CEO Gerald Kassner emphasized that the company is on a solid growth trend,
saying, "We will close the 2024/2025 fiscal year with a 15% increase in
revenue. The main drivers this year were a very strong early booking period and
expansions in our offerings. Turkey, in particular, demonstrated a very
positive performance with an increase of over 30% thanks to the new privileges
we secured last year. We are also seeing significant growth in neighboring
destinations such as Cyprus and Bulgaria."
Kassner said of the coming season, “Right now, I am
cautious and hesitant. We are expecting single-digit growth, or even no growth
at all. Pricing will be significantly more conservative than in recent years. I
am expecting growth of no more than one to two percent, and even price
stability in some markets. The positive dollar exchange rate is having a
positive impact on our calculations, and the transition to the euro in Bulgaria
is preventing major price increases, which is naturally very positive. Airfares
are currently averaging the same level as last year, but I would like to see a
slightly lower price trend compared to the past during the upcoming peak
season.”
“We definitely need affordable travel packages! Many
hotel partners have understood this message clearly. As an industry, it is very
important for us to continue to be able to cover the travel expenses of our
customers, including families, during the peak season.”
