The US State Department is reportedly
preparing a regulation that will require ‘collateral’ of up to $15,000 from
applicants for business and tourist visas.
According to a statement from the US State Department,
the department is introducing new financial obligations for visa applications
from some countries to the US. The legislation, which is expected to be
published today, will specifically target applicants from certain countries
applying for business and tourist visas and will require them to deposit
‘collateral’ of up to 5, 10 or 15 thousand dollars.
It was stated that the application was made in order
to see whether people who want to enter the US meet the necessary financial
obligations and in this way, it is aimed to carry out the entry processes of
some applicants to the US in a more controlled manner. How this will affect
applications from which countries will be shared with the public in the
regulation to be announced today.
