It was reported that 25 people were
injured due to turbulence on a flight from the US to Amsterdam, the capital of
the Netherlands.
A US-based Delta Airlines passenger plane bound for
Amsterdam made an emergency landing in Minneapolis after changing its route due
to severe turbulence. Flight ‘DL56’ from Salt Lake City to Amsterdam, the
capital of the Netherlands, was diverted to Minneapolis-Saint Paul
International Airport at around 20.00 local time yesterday. Delta announced
that the Airbus A330-900 aircraft was subjected to turbulence and therefore
made an emergency landing. "Upon arrival, medical teams evaluated
passengers and cabin crew. 25 people were transported to the hospital and
received treatment."
Delta noted that a special team called ‘Delta Care
Team’ was deployed to meet the needs of passengers after the incident. No
information was shared on how many passengers and crew were on board.
