Local authorities and Santorini residents call for a visitor cap to preserve the island’s charm and limit overcrowding. In response to this problem, Mayor Nikos Zorzos has actively pushed for restrictions, suggesting a reduction in the number of cruise ship visitors from around 17,000 daily visitors to just 8,000.
