North Korea's new holiday complex starts accepting domestic visitors

The new 20,000-seat tourism complex built
on North Korea's Kalma Peninsula has begun accepting local visitors. On July 7,
it was stated that a Russian tourist group will visit the region for the first
time.
The new tourism complex with a capacity of 20 thousand
people built on the coast of the Kalma Peninsula in Wonsan, North Korea, has started
to accept domestic visitors. In a statement made by the North Korean
administration, it was stated that visitors of all ages from different parts of
the country are enjoying the 4-kilometer-long coastline and different types of
pools. "At a time when the public is eager to travel to this magnificent
tourist attraction, which is unique in the world, a large number of guests
visited the area on the first day of its opening," the statement said.
On July 7, a group of Russian tourists

Russian media reported that North Korea is preparing
to open the area to foreign tourists, while Russian media reported that a group
of Russian tourists will visit the Kalma Tourism Complex for the first time on
July 7.
South Korea's Unification Ministry also stated that
the number of foreign tourists visiting the region may be below the
expectations of the Pyongyang administration due to limited transportation
facilities. According to the capacity of flights between North Korea's capital
Pyongyang and Vladivostok, Russia, about 170 foreign tourists are expected to
visit the region daily.
