EU to give 36,000 young people free train tickets

The EU Commission announced that it will
distribute 36 thousand free passes to 18-year-old young people residing in
countries associated with the Erasmus+ program, including Türkiye, for train
travel to European countries.
In a written statement made by the European Union (EU)
Commission, it was reported that 36 thousand travel passes will be provided to
young people under the program called ‘DiscoverEU’ (Discover the EU). In the
statement, it was noted that applications started today and successful applicants
will be able to travel across Europe by train for 30 days between July 1, 2025
and September 30, 2026.
Born between July 1, 2006 and June 30, 2007, and
residing in EU countries and countries associated with the Erasmus + program
such as Iceland, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia and Türkiye,
the statement said that the applications will end on April 16 at 13.00 TSI.
