Norbert Fiebig era ends at the DRV
- 4/2/2025
- 3 Day

Norbert Fiebig, current President of the
German Travel Association (DRV), will not be standing for re-election to the
Executive Committee and Board in October.
Fiebig, who has held the office of President of the
DRV since June 2014 and has successfully led the association through an
extremely crisis-ridden decade, explains: "I will not be standing for
re-election as DRV President. Over the past eleven years, we have consistently
championed the diverse interests of the travel industry at home and abroad and,
as the DRV, have initiated and achieved a great deal in the political arena. As
a result, we have been able to overcome the numerous challenges of recent years
and have also noticeably increased the visibility of the German travel industry
as a whole. This has laid a good foundation for the DRV to continue its
successful association work in the coming years."
DRV Executive Board elections will take
place in October 2025
This year, the DRV Executive Committee and Executive
Board elections will take place as scheduled during the Capital Congress on
October 10. The DRV is calling for candidates in good time before the election
date. The candidates for the individual positions on the DRV Board must be
nominated at least four weeks before the election date. Irrespective of this,
it is possible to declare a candidacy at any time to the members of the DRV
Board or the Presidium or at the DRV office.
Non-DRV members can also run for President
An amendment to the Articles of Association was
approved today at the General Assembly on the occasion of the DRV Annual
Conference 2025 in Málaga. This also gives non-DRV members the opportunity to
run for the office of President or the position of Chief Financial Officer.
Candidates must be nominated for the position by a member company. The board
activities of the other DRV board members will continue to be linked to an
activity in a DRV member company.
