Finland became the happiest country in the world for the 8th time in a row in the annual ‘World Happiness Report’.

Oxford University's Center for Wellbeing Research published the ‘2025 World's Happiest Countries Report’. Finland ranked first in the list of 147 countries and became the happiest country in the world for the 8th time in a row, followed by Denmark, Iceland and Sweden. The USA did not make it to the top 20 in the list this year after last year. The country, which ranked 23rd last year, dropped to 24th place this year. Costa Rica and Mexico were among the 10 happiest countries for the first time.

The 10 happiest countries in the world are Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Costa Rica, Norway, Israel, Luxembourg and Mexico. Germany ranked 22nd, England 23rd, France 33rd, Spain 38th and Italy 40th. Turkey, which ranked 98th last year, rose to 94th this year. Ukraine, where the war continues, dropped from 105th to 111th place, while Russia rose from 72nd to 66th. Afghanistan was at the bottom of the list as the 147th country.
