Continuing to grow as one of Europe's
leading holiday airlines, Corendon Airlines has been operating in the sector
for 20 years with its four bases in Germany, more than 20 departure points in
the UK, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, travel agencies, tour operators and
strong business partnerships in addition to its operation in Turkey.
Corendon Airlines is in a celebratory mood! Corendon
Airlines carried its passengers to a holiday destination with its first flight
20 years ago on April 12, 2005. The first flight was from Eindhoven Airport in
the Netherlands to Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport. This flight also went down
in history as the first passenger plane to land at the newly opened airport on
the Asian side of Istanbul. Since then, Corendon Airlines has grown rapidly to
become an airline carrying 10 million passengers a year.
Corendon Airlines has a strong presence in
German-speaking regions and has shaped its flight program from the early years
mainly on connections to Antalya. Offering regular flights from Germany,
Austria and Switzerland, Corendon Airlines operated its first Germany-Antalya
flight (Paderborn-Antalya) on April 10, 2006. Since then, Corendon Airlines
aircraft have taken off from German airports around 55,000 times.
Commenting on the progress of the airline, Mr.
Yıldıray Karaer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Corendon Airlines, said:
“It is a source of great pride for us to leave behind 20 years of flight
operations. In 2005, we started this journey with only two airplanes and we
have grown steadily and today we have become one of the leading holiday airlines
in Europe.”
Karaer continued his words as follows: “We are
delighted to celebrate this important milestone. We would like to extend our
sincere thanks to our more than 2,000 team members, passengers and business
partners who have contributed to this success.”
Corendon Airlines transports its passengers to the
most popular holiday destinations in the Mediterranean with flights from more
than 50 airports around the world. Its fleet consists of 31 Boeing 737-800 and
Boeing 737-800 MAX aircraft.
Thanks to high demand and successful cooperation with
travel agencies, Corendon Airlines has established its “base point” in Germany.
The first point was opened on May 1, 2019 at Cologne Bonn Airport. At the end
of October of the same year, Nuremberg was added to the network. In 2020,
Hannover and in 2021 Düsseldorf became Corendon Airlines' other points in
Germany. Flights departing from these airports carry passengers to popular
holiday destinations such as Turkey, Greece, Egypt, Spain and Morocco.
Having established an extensive flight network across
Europe in the last 20 years, Corendon Airlines has also reached a strong
position in the UK market. Today, it has become one of the favorite airlines of
British holidaymakers, offering direct flights to Antalya and Heraklion from
cities such as London, Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow. Thanks to close
cooperation with leading tour operators and travel agencies in the UK, it
offers comfortable and reliable travel options to thousands of passengers.
Apart from Germany and the United Kingdom, Corendon
Airlines also operates in Belgium, the Netherlands and Poland. The airline has
a fleet of 31 aircraft registered in Malta, Turkey and the Netherlands.
Corendon Airlines' headquarters is located in Antalya.
Corendon Airlines operates as part of the
multinational Corendon Tourism Group. The group also includes Corendon Europe
Airlines with 13 aircraft registered in Malta and Corendon Dutch Airlines based
in Amsterdam. Corendon Dutch Airlines operates long-haul flights to the islands
of Bonaire and Curaçao in the Caribbean. Corendon also operates four resorts in
Curaçao. Corendon's portfolio also includes several hotels in Amsterdam and
Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, as well as hotels in Antalya and Kemer in Turkey.
