American Airlines flight made an emergency
landing in Rome for security reasons. While it was stated that the security
reason could be a bomb threat, it was determined that there was no security
problem as a result of the inspection on the plane.
The pilots of American Airlines flight AA292, which
was flying between New York and New Delhi, decided to make an emergency landing
due to a 'possible security situation'. Two Italian fighter jets escorted the
American Airlines plane, which entered Italian airspace, until it landed in
Rome.
It was noted that there were 285 passengers on board
the Boeing 787 Deamliner passenger plane and the security situation could be a
bomb threat. American Airlines announced that no security problem was detected
as a result of the inspection. It was reported that the plane will make its New
Delhi flight the next day.
