Booking.com, the world-famous online travel agency based in the Netherlands, announced the results of the Traveller Review Awards 2025. 1 million 711 thousand properties worldwide won awards! Apartments were overwhelmingly the most awarded property type, followed by vacation homes and hotels.

Booking.com announced the winners of the Traveller Review Awards 2025. The 13th edition of these awards, based on more than 360 million verified customer reviews on Booking.com, recognized 1,711,539 properties from 212 countries and regions.

Italy received the most awards in the Traveller Review Awards. Five of the top 10 countries are also on our list of the most popular travel destinations in 2025.

Italy was the most awarded country for the eighth consecutive year with 207,652 award winners. This year, France overtook Spain to take second place, while Germany and the United Kingdom took fourth and fifth place. The rest of the top 10 was filled by the USA, Poland, Brazil, Greece and Croatia.

With 847,627 apartments awarded at the Traveller Review Awards 2025, this property type received the most awards for the eighth consecutive year. Vacation homes came in second place with nearly 260,000 awards, up 21.2% on last year. While hotels remained popular in third place, the top 10 property types show that travelers are more likely to choose accommodation that offers a homely atmosphere.
