Crocodile head found in tourist's suitcase at airport

A Canadian tourist carrying a crocodile skull in his suitcase was detained at Delhi Airport in India.

A 32-year-old Canadian tourist carrying a crocodile skull in his suitcase was arrested at the airport in India's capital New Delhi. In the incident that took place on Monday, the Canadian tourist, whose name was not disclosed, was stopped during a security check while he was at the airport to catch his flight to Canada.

“Upon examination, a skull with sharp teeth, resembling the jaws of a baby crocodile weighing approximately 777 grams, wrapped in a cream-colored cloth, was found,” the airport customs said in a statement. The Canadian tourist was detained and the crocodile skull was handed over to the Forestry and Wildlife Unit. It was noted that the tourist bought the skull from Thailand.

Last year, a 32-year-old female Canadian tourist was stopped at New Delhi Airport after horns belonging to an unidentified animal were found in her suitcase. The tourist had told the authorities that she had bought the horns during a trek in the northern Ladakh region and decided to take them as a souvenir.
