Vietnam, home to the renowned island
retreat of Phu Quoc, is setting its sights on a 31% increase in international
visitors compared to 2024 figures.
Vietnam is targeting 23 million international visitors
this year, surpassing pre-pandemic tourist numbers, as stated on the official
government website of the Southeast Asian nation.
According to BMI Research, the country’s tourism
sector is projected to achieve full recovery by 2025.
Vietnam is aiming for a 31% increase in international
visitors this year compared to 2024, targeting around 5 million more than the
18 million arrivals recorded in 2019, according to the report.
In 2024, Vietnam welcomed 501,000 visitors from India.
Over the past two years, the number of Indian travelers to Vietnam surged 2.6
times, establishing India as one of Vietnam’s fastest-growing tourist markets,
the report highlighted.
Vietnam recorded 17.5 million international arrivals
last year, reflecting a 39.5% increase compared to 2023, according to an
official statement. Travelers from Asia made up approximately 80% of these
visitors.
