Turkish Airlines breaks Guiness World record

Turkish Airlines, the airline flying to the most destinations in the world, broke the Guinness World Record by surpassing its closest competitor by 30 countries.

Turkish Airlines, which has held the title of being the airline flying to the most countries in the world since 2012, has now registered this success with the Guinness World Record. The national flag carrier has entered the Guinness Book of World Records with the title of “Most Countries Flown to by an Airline”. The record certificate was presented today at Santiago Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport after Turkish Airlines' first flight to Chile. Turkish Airlines executives and Guinness World Records officials attended the ceremony. According to Guinness World Records' evaluation criteria, Turkish Airlines broke the record with flights to 120 countries, reflecting only the active routes of the last 12 months. However, including the temporarily suspended routes and the first flight to Chile today, Turkish Airlines' flight network now covers 131 countries.
