The city of Milan, Italy, will ban smoking
in open spaces as of January 1, 2025.
It was announced that the municipality in Milan,
Italy, will ban smoking in open spaces as of January 1, 2025. However, it was
noted that this ban will not apply if smokers are at least 10 meters away from
other people. It was shared that those who do not comply with the ban will be
fined between 40 and 240 euros.
The Italian Tobacco Association took the regulation to
court, arguing that the Municipality of Milan does not have the authority to
implement such a ban and that such an intervention should be discussed at the
national level.
