In the ancient city of Pompeii, which was
destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius about 2 thousand years ago, a
restriction decision was taken due to the increase in visitor density. It was
announced that the number of daily visitors will be limited to 20 thousand.
Italian authorities stated that they took action
against the negative effects of the crowd on the historical site. It was also
stated that the overcrowding posed a great risk to the safety of visitors.
