Radisson expands in Central Europe with Prize by Radisson brand

Radisson Hotel Group announces the rebranding of its successful and affordable high design brand prizeotel to Prize by Radisson and unveils two new Prize by Radisson hotel deals, accelerating expansion in key destinations in Germany and market entry in Poland.

Reiterating its commitment to significantly grow its portfolio, Radisson Hotel Group announced the rebranding of prizeotel to Prize by Radisson and the signing of two new Prize by Radisson hotel agreements in Central Europe. This strategic step and rebranding underscores Radisson Hotel Group's commitment to expanding the brand's presence in vibrant and centrally located markets and cities.

The rebranding of prizeotel to Prize by Radisson brings the dynamic and affordable high design brand more closely in line with the Group's core values and the “Yes I Can!” guest experience. Known for its vibrant and fresh design, the rebranding of prizeotel retains the eclectic character of the brand's original identity. Prize by Radisson continues to offer a unique mid-scale lifestyle experience at the cost of a budget hotel, offering bright and energetic spaces ideal for modern living, working and social interaction.

Elie Younes, Head of Global Development, Radisson Hotel Group, said: 'The rebranding and expansion of Prize by Radisson marks a significant milestone in increasing the brand's global reach and elevating the international appeal of our guests and owners.

Commenting on the rebranding, Connor Ryterski, General Manager of Prize by Radisson said: “The rebranding of Prizeotel to Prize by Radisson marks an important milestone in our growth strategy. “This step expands Prize by Radisson's influence and provides us with the opportunity to offer travelers exceptional experiences in central locations. At the same time, we are excited to demonstrate the support, commercial excellence and security of belonging to an international hotel chain.”

These two agreements, signed in key European destinations, confirm Prize by Radisson's exciting expansion plans across all contract types, leased, managed and franchised hotels, and demonstrate that it offers the right solution for every market.

Scheduled to open in 2026, Prize by Radisson, Gdansk City, a new 126-room development, is located just 300 meters from the city's famous boulevard and renowned architecture along the Motlawa River. Gdansk is a fast-growing economic hub and must-visit destination where historic charm meets modern vibrancy, seamlessly blending centuries-old architecture with dynamic business and leisure opportunities. The hotel has a restaurant and bar on the ground floor. Gdansk Airport, Poland's third largest airport, is 17 km from the hotel and the main train station is approximately 2 km away.

Scheduled to open in 2027, Prize by Radisson, Berlin City, a 315-room property, will be part of a new mixed-use development in Berlin's Prenzlauer Berg district. Located just around 10 minutes from Alexanderplatz, the hotel offers easy access to the city's attractions, nightlife, fairgrounds, airport and long-distance train stations. In line with the brand's ESG commitment, PrizePromise is targeting DGNB Gold certification for the building and the hotel will have a variety of uses, occupying approximately 60% of the property. The upper floor will house the hotel's lobby, bar, social area, co-working space and breakfast restaurant, all offering spectacular views of Berlin's city center.

Since its launch in Germany in 2009, Prize by Radisson has redefined the concept of the mid-scale design hotel by combining smart lifestyle elements with affordable accommodation. The brand expanded in 2022 with new properties in Bonn, Vienna and Münster. Currently, the Prize by Radisson portfolio comprises 21 properties in operation and under development across Europe, including Prize by Radisson, Osnabrück City, expected to open in 2025. This 170-room hotel will be part of a mixed-use development in the center of Osnabrück, offering convenient transport links and including residential, hotel, dining and retail spaces.

Valerie Schuermans, Vice President, Western and Southern Europe, Radisson Hotel Group, said: “Prize by Radisson is an exciting evolution that aligns perfectly with our vision for growth in key markets in Europe. This transformation enhances our ability to capitalize on Radisson's overall recognition in the region and increase our brand awareness. The rebranding will allow us to strengthen our portfolio and further accelerate Prize by Radisson's international expansion.”
