typhoon Yagi has made landfall in Vietnam, killing 21 people.
Super typhoon Yagi made landfall in Vietnam. In
accidents caused by strong winds caused by the typhoon, 21 people lost their
lives and 78 people were injured. In a statement made by the Indo-Pacific
Tropical Cyclone Warning Center, it was reported that the typhoon caused winds
of up to 203 km per hour.
In the capital Hanoi, strong winds and flying debris
caused damage to buildings and vehicles, while fallen trees caused power
outages. Operations were suspended at 4 airports in the north of the country.
While about 50 thousand people were evacuated from coastal towns, authorities
warned them to stay indoors. Schools were canceled in 12 northern provinces,
especially in the capital Hanoi.
